  • 06/12/2011: Bintulu Might See the Building of Another Chinese School
    • BINTULU: Bintulu might see the building of another Chinese primary school if the current process is done smoothly to transfer Kai Ming Primary School from Bintangor to Bintulu.
    • The transfer is currently under way, with the Federation of the Eight Clan Association in Bintulu going to the Education Ministry to obtain the transfer form from Deputy Education Minister Datuk Wee Ka Siong.
    • The form will be filled by the school for submission to the Education Ministry.

      Bintulu: Member of Parliament for Bintulu Dato'  Seri Tiong King Sing JP visited numerous roads today following by numerous complaints received over the damaged condition which needed to be retarseal or reconstructed urgently. 
    22/11/2011: Tiong Question over Mammoth Allocation RM 150 to Rural and Regional Development Ministry
    • Kuala Lumpur: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who has been championing for rural development in Sarawak, continues to play a leading role in the parliament by putting forward two verbal questions concerning the safe rural drinking water project.
    • In the current parliamentary sitting, Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers's Club, asked about the mammoth allocation amounting to RM150 million to Rural and Regional Development Ministry for this.

    Parliament Nov 22 2011: Tiong raised question over Government First Home Plan
    • KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing today asked the Finance Ministry on the government's plan to help young people to buy their first homes.
    • In his two verbal questions, he asked:
    • (1) On the response of the plan among the young applicants, and
    • (2) The number of applications received, and the criteria required, like the ages and income of the applicants.
    21/11/2011:Tiong question emergency allocation to repair school in a deteriorating state
    • KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21, 2011): The Education Ministry will help a school in Bintulu in a deteriorating state to repair after it was attacked by termites.
    • The assurance came from Deputy Education Minister Datuk Wee Ka Siong last week, saying he would speed up the application. 
    • In the Budget debate, Wee said he had been to the school and his ministry was now processing the application, adding the application had been backed by the Sarawak Education director.
    19/11/2011: Over 16 Lions Dance Troupes at Bintulu for Lion Dance Hornbill Cup 2011
    • BINTULU (Nov 19, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said although the town had started late in hosting activities to promote Chinese culture, they had not lagged in their commitment behind other towns.
    • Gracing the Lion Dance Hornbill Cup 2011 today, he said the event had attracted 16 troupes from throughout the state, and this showed the capability of the people.
    • He said the successful hosting had given him faith in the people, and he looked forward to the hosting of more such cultural activities in future.
    18/11/2011:  Tiong urged all operator in fields to curb inflation at Malaysia Hawkers Day Celebration in Bintulu
    • BINTULU (Nov 18, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing called on the hawkers in Sarawak to work through their associations with the government and the people to curb inflation.
    • Speaking at the Hawkers’ Day celebration tonight, he said Malaysians had been hard hit by inflation, and the contributing factor linked to the price hikes of oil and goods not listed as controlled items were not within the control of the government.
    • Although the government has been giving subsidies, like in petrol, the efforts will not be fruitful if traders in the related fields do not cooperate.

    • BINTULU (Nov 18, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing called on the hawkers in Sarawak to work through their associations with the government and the people to curb inflation.
    14/11/2011: Tiong chases again Public Works Ministry for satisfactory replies over unanswered parliament verbal questions.
    • KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 14, 2011): A series of enquiries to the Public Works Ministry caused Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing to lare up in the parliament today when he failed to get satisfactory replies.
    • This has come from a follow-up last week when Tiong, who is also chairman of BN Backbenchers  Club, asked on two issues on infrastructures in Sarawak.
    • The Bintulu MP also asked on the on-going parliament building renovation which had displeased him because the ministry had not consulted the speaker of the House and the parliamentarians'  the people using the building on the practicality of the plan.
    • All that Tiong got from the ministry were words being played around with the issues.
    13/11/2011: Tiong praised Pimpim Kindergarten as Bintulu's biggest and reputed pre-school in town for 700 multiracial children
    • BINTULU (Nov 13, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing today praised the educationists behind Pimpim Kindergarten for building the biggest and reputed pre-school in town. 
    • Since its establishment 17 years ago, Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers’ Club, said the kindergarten had 698 students today with an impressive teaching staff of 33.
    • Speaking at its graduation day, he said the pre-school built by Bintulu Cantonese Association was the contribution and commitment of the people.
    12/11/2011: Tiong call on all contractors in digging roads to perform finishing touches professionally
    • BINTULU (Nov 12, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing today called on contractors digging roads for the laying of pipes and cables and building of underground drains to do their finishing touches professionally.
    • He said this was to prevent leaving behind inconveniences to the road users, and in the end, the authorities would have to move in to rectify their negligence.

    • He said when these contractors profited from the projects, they were expected to fulfil their duties well.
    12/11/2011: Tiong Marched into post office for loading public complaints
    • BINTULU (Nov 12, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing today marched into the post office here loaded public complaints.
    • He was there to understand the problems brought forward to him by the people and he also appealed for improvement in the services of the post office.
    • Among the problems are those concerning the pot holes and the collection of rain water on the lane within their compound that are causing inconveniences to the people.
    12/11/2011: Nine families in Pearl Garden facing dilemma of contractor building lots on a 10 feet higher ground,

      BINTULU (Nov 11, 2011): Nine families in Pearl Garden are facing the dilemma of rain water rushing into their houses when a developer decided to build houses next to their lots on a much higher ground – at 10 feet higher to be exact.
      Their complaints have reached Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, and accompanied by BDA manager Datuk Hj Mohidin Ishak and other officers, they inspected the construction site to view the seriousness of the situation.
      Representatives of three families met Tiong and Datuk Hj Mohidin Ishak and the residents described the ordeal they had gone through to Tiong and the officers.
    11/11/2011: BDA has stopped a developer from continuing their housing project
    • BINTULU (Nov 11, 2011): Bintulu Development Authority has stopped a developer from continuing with their housing project after they failed to comply with the condition to build their houses not on too high a ground to pose dangers to the houses next to theirs.
    • Revealing this to Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in the site inspection to the problematic housing project at Pearl Garden,  BDA general manager Datuk Hj Mohidin Ishak said they had required the developer to build their houses on a ground not higher than 1.5 metres from the level of their next-door houses.

    • BINTULU (Nov 6, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing praised SM Kai Dee for uplifting itself to become a model school through its high standard of discipline and excellent performances.
    • Speaking at the charity sale hosted by Bintulu United Chinese Association today, he hoped the school board of management, teachers, parents and former students would continue working together to mould the students.
    • Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers’ Club, said he was touched by the community efforts when 38 NGOs pooled their resources together to help out in the charity sale.

    01/11/2011: Tiong proposed RM 50 million dredging preliminary allocation for Kemena River at Parliament
    • KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is back to the parliamentary sitting again after his weekend visit to the longhouse folks in his constituency.
    • The first thing he did for the people in the parliament was to question on the allocations for the dredging of Kemena River, which he said the river flow had been seriously blocked by siltation, causing frequent flooding in his constituency.

    • Parliament : It was a frustration that Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing took up in the current parliamentary sitting when the house of common were discussing on water and power supplies for rural folks in Sarawak. 
    • Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers¼Œ Club, raised the issue when Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Joseph Entulu Balaun was replying Tanjong Manis MP Datuk Hajjah Norah Abdul Rahman.

    • BINTULU (Oct 26, 2011): Bintulu MP Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing said he was deeply angered when he heard about the folks of  Gumbang anak Achak (24 doors) being abused when it came to buying subsidised rice. 
    • In his visit to the longhouse community this morning, Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers’ Club, said he had been told that when these folks bought the subsidised rice in Tatau, they were asked to buy first a packet of more expensive rice costing RM24.

    • BINTULU (Oct 22, 2011): Bintulu MP Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing will now return to the Federal Government with a mission from the residents of Kuala Tatau and Serupai to enquire why a road that was supposed to have been built for them a decade ago had not even started.
    • In his visit to the residents today, Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers’ Club, was met with angry residents who poured out their dissatisfaction to him on the promise of the proposed 10-km stretch of road that was supposed to link Kuala Tatau and Serupai.

    • BINTULU (Oct 8, 2011): Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing recently called on foreign companies hiring Malaysians to be concerned with the well being of these workers.
    • He said they should not care only for their business and leave the workers to fend for themselves when they were in trouble.

    • KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12, 2011):  Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing last week hit out at the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development for not having performed their duty when it came to services in rural Sarawak.
    • Speaking at the current parliamentary sitting, Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Back benchers’ Club, said the ministry officials had failed to go to the rural area to help the folks, particularly the women and the families that needed the government’s help and backing to improve their lives.

    16/03/2011: Amendment bill to the Copyright Act 1987 to be tabled next sitting, BNBBC lead by Tiong voice out opinion and view received
    • Kuala Lumpur:The Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism Malaysia, Dato Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has agreed to have full studies over all opinion and view raised by member of Barisan Nasional Back Bencher Council (BNBBC) following a meeting requested by the council which held recently on Monday.

    • The ministry which reaches a consensus with the council after the meeting also assured members of BNBBC, more meeting will be held to discuss all the arising issues in future for the matter.
