Tiong visits longhouse along Tatau-Sibu road

BINTULU (Oct 26, 20110): Bintulu MP Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing today continued visiting the rural folks in his constituency to have dialogue with them so as to understand their needs when he returned from the parliamentary sitting.

He walked into the homes of 14 longhouses at Tatau-Sibu Road from dawn. The 14 longhouses were Rh Sudok ak Ujai, KM 16, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (13 pintu), Rh Bennet Jumat ak Ujan, KM 16, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (21 pintu), Rh Geling ak Guma, KM 16, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (11 pintu), (Rh Likong – previously), Rh Itam ak Ujok, KM 16, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (12 pintu), Rh Tandang ak Tama Kuling, Sg Kelawit, Tatau (21 pintu), Rh Amin ak Batot, Sg Kelawit, Tatau (12 pintu), Rh Joseph Jurit ak Jelanding, KM 15, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (5 pintu), Rh Ah Kow ak Kubu, KM 16, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (9 pintu), Rh Micheal Ugong ak Anjan, KM 14, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (13 pintu), Rh Beriak ak Pindau, KM 12, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (10 pintu), Rh Gumbang ak Achak, KM 12, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (24 pintu), Rh Dingon ak Janang, KM 6, Jalan Tatau-Sibu (21 pintu), Rh Chandang ak Anggau, Sg Keladan Tatau (18 pintu) and  RH Janti.

Tiong, who is also the chairman of BN Backbenchers’ Club, first arrived at Sudok 5am. The longhouse is currently under repair. The Bintulu MP gave out tiles to each family for their corridors in their individual homes.

He then proceed to Bennet, where he handed over RM15, 000 for the folks to buy new zinc sheets. To Gwling he gave out RM10, 000 for the repair of  , Itam longhouse RM10,000, Tandang RM15,000 for general repair and RM5,000 for the community there to help an aged woman build a new  home.
For Amin and Joseph Jurit longhouse Tiong handed over RM8,000; he also gave out RM6,000 to two widows and their children and RM3,000 for a lone aged woman. Tiong gave out funds to these individuals so that the folks there could help build their homes.

As he continued his visit, Tiong came to Ah Kow where he would help mend their leaking roof. He also gave out tiles to Michael Ugong for their ruai and RM1500 to an aged woman for the repair of her house.

To the community of Beriak longhouse, Tiong handed over RM7, 000 for the repair of their toilets, the making of curtains and for other household needs. To theie women’s section, he funded them for buying a cooking stove and kitchen utensils for social function use.

In Gumbang Achak, Tiong allocated RM15,000 for community building purposes and another RM5,000 for the uniforms of their JKKK members.

Tiong wrapped up his visit at Dingon longhouse, where he brought good news that the government would supply power to their longhouse. He said the government had approved RM1.58 million for that, adding the works would kick off once the folks had arranged the matter with SESCO.

After the announcement, the Bintulu MP handed over RM15,000 to the community and two cooking stoves to their women’s section.

Accompanying Tiong today were Bintulu P217 Constituency Service Centre’s assistants, including Teo Ho Peng, SPDP Jepak chairman Rayong anak Bayak, leaders of Kidurong Divisions, youth chief Ling Tiew Tiing, youth members of Tanjung Batu, Bekenu Chairman Slyvester Janting, Ukar anak Kelayang and Andrew Abak  from Niah People Service centre
