27/03/2010 : Tiong urges Indian Community to remain united
 

 

BINTULU: The Member of Parliament for Bintulu urged the Indian community in Bintulu to remain united for not to be easily instigated by certain parties in the country, especially to join the extreme movement by ignoring all the negotiation channels provided by the government. 

Tiong stressed this before declared the opening of the First Annual General Meeting of Bintulu Indian Association as Everly Hotel this evening. 

“I have to admit that government of Barisan Nasional may overlook, or careless in making some mistake while the policies being implemented”

Nevertheless, he urged the people to reckon twice before any harsh action to be taken, quoting that incident of “Hindra Move” which he felt regret and should be drawn to the end.

“Nothing could be gained via confrontation instead of fully utilize the present friendly channel provided by government, even though some may feel their community being marginalized”

He urged leaders of NGOs should put the top priority in bringing a brighter future for  our generation to come, instead of resolving any confrontation measure.

“I do believe the great determination of our beloved PM’s vision under “One Malaysia”,” he said.
Meanwhile, the MP also urged all the journalist should remember their duty to convey a untwisted fact and figure dailies reports, instead of portraying reports that merely aimed  to spur their circulation.
