BINTULU - Martial art which emphasises on self-discipline and determination can be used to address the disciplinary problems in both primary and secondary schools in Bintulu Division.

The proposal came from Member of Parliament for Bintulu, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing who described martial art though promoting self-defence, was also a healthy activity that could be introduced to both primary and secondary schools as one of the extra-curriculum activities.

Tiong said this at the installation ceremony of the Bintulu Soo Bahk Do Association recently at Li Hua Hotel here.

The new office-bearers are being led by local community leader, Kapitan Dr Francis Toh for the year 2005-2006.

Later Tiong, on behalf of the Soo Bahk Do International, presented a black belt certificate of 4th Dan to Dr Francis Toh in recognition of his attainment to the higher level of practicing this Korean martial art.
