| BINTULU: Some 80 remote-controlled model speedboat enthusiasts will
be taking part in a Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) RC Speed
Boat Race from Feb 22 to 23 at Kidurong Heghts here.
Organised by the Bintulu Remote Controlled Boat Club, the race will be featuring four categories namely SuperClass Open Tunnel/ Catamaran Gas Engine, Tunnel/Catamaran Hull Local Modified Gas Engine of 43cc and below, Tunnel/Catamaran Hull Local Modified Gas Engine of 35cc and below and Monohull Gas Engine 43cc and below. The Dato Sri Tiong King Sing Challenge Cup would be won by the eventual overall champion, beside RM500 cash and a champion's trophy. The second and third placed winners would return with cash prize of RM300 and RM200 respectively, as well as a trophy each. Prizes are also provided for the fourth and fifth placed finishers from all the categories as well as for the five fastest boats in three-round race in each category. Entry fees for this competition is RM60 for registration in a single race category with an extra RM10 to be charged for entry into each additional category, or RM90 for those registering to race in all four categories.
