| BINTULU: SJK Sebiew Chinese here will have a new headmaster soon following
an arrangement by the State Education Department to transfer one from Sibu.
Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing said that he had been notified that the officer to assume the position is still waiting for his posting order which is expected to be issued soon. “I have been informed by the State Education Department that the new headmaster will be posted as soon as he received the transfer order,” he said in a statement released on Monday. Tiong had been informed about the problem faced by the school during a recent dinner in conjunction with the eighth installation of the Federation of Bintulu Chinese School Boards. He had learnt that the school had been without a headmaster for over the last few months and parents had expressed concerned that the uncoordinated administration could affect their children’s studies. Upon being informed of the problem, Tiong had checked with the Divisional Education Department twice - before and after the recently-concluded parliamentary general election. “I have also urged the State Education Director to expedite the process
of transfer so that the problem can be solved as soon as possible,” he
added.
