1/10/2003:Business community welcomes Air Asia's move

BINTULU: Longhouse folks in Pandan and Hulu Binyo areas in the sub-district of Sebauh are urged to have patience over the delays in road project.

Member of Parliament for Bintulu, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing said the shortage of fund as the main contributing factor to the delay in the implementation road projects.

He said he had met Works Minister Datuk Seri Samy  Vellu to inquire about the project, but told that the government had to delay the project for lack of the funds.

He explained during a dialogue session with a penghulu and headmen from nine longhouses recently that he would also approach the Minister of Rural Development for assistance in the matter.

Tiong earlier reminded lonhouse folk to keep their documents like passports, identify cards and birth certificates properly.

He said during his trips to many longhouses, he was surprised to find out that many people still did not have identification documents.

He added that he would propose to the National Registration Department to send staff to lonhouses to ease the problem.

Tiong later presented MRP grants to Rh. Irai Bnyo (RM15,000), Rh. Gemong Binyo (RM10,000), SK Bukit Mawang Binyoi (RM1,500), Rh. Nekai Sinyo (RM5,000) and Rh. Bily Pandan (RM4000).
