| BINTULU: The medication supplier for the haemodialysis centre here
had pledged to improve their services following public complaints over
the unavailability of medicines required for treatment at the centre.
Bintulu Member of Parliament Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing said the supplier had earlier being found to have caused the delay of the medication supply, leading those seeking treatment at the centre to think that the Government had not been giving any allocation to the centre. "This will serve to tell the public that the delay in supply had got nothing to do with the government but with the supplier, instead," he told reporters after visiting the haemodialysis centre at Tanjung Batu Road here. During his visit, he conceded that there were certain number of medicines required for treatment of kidney patients that had ran out of stock at the centre but after probing the cause, it was found that the supplier had unnecessarily delaying the delivery. He was disappointed on knowing that the supplier had instead spending between two to three nights in Miri, instead of coming straight to Bintulu in order to maintain prompt delivery. Describing such attitude as irresponsible, Tiong saw that the supplier had no sense of concern over the plight of people who might be dependent on the medication and could fall into health complications should the delivery continued to be delayed. "If the supplier could not perform, I have told the centre to get other
supplier to replace. This inability if left unchecked could eventually
affecting the government's reputation," he added,
