BINTULU: The joy of Chinese New Year celebration continue to be felt here
with the arrival of the Yang DiPertua Negeri, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji
Muhamad Salahuddin and his wife, Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah on Saturday.

The executive jet carrying Their Excellencies touched down at the new
airport here at about 9.30am and welcomed by the local dignitaries led by
Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing and Bintulu
Resident Ubaidullah Haji Abdul Latip.

A Chinese open house hosted by Tiong at the ParkCity Beverly Hotel became
the first stop for the Head of State and wife to commence their first day of
festive visit here before they proceeded to the residence of prominent
entrepreneur Dato Sri Yek Min Ek at Taman Hock Lee here.

The entourage also visited the home of Kapitan Hu Liong Hua at Taman Kemena
Raya, SPDP Kidurong Division protem chairman Thomas Ng and Bintulu Chinese
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) former president Sia Hiong Ngie at
Taman Puteri.

The Head of State concluded the day's visit at the residence of BCCCI newly
elected president Peter King at Taman Suarah before attending a dinner
hosted by the Federation of Registered Chinese Associations Bintulu
president Pemanca Ling Kong Mee.

Assistant Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hassan,
State Assemblymen for Jepak, Haji Talib Zulpilip and Kemena, Dr Stephen
Rundi ak Utom were among those accompanying the Head of State during the
visits.
