BINTULU: The three wooden bridges along the Jalan Bintulu - Sebauh here will
be replaced with concrete soon, says Bintulu Member of Parliament Dato' Seri
Tiong King.

He said the authority concerned are now working towards commencing the
bridge replacement project after being informed by him of the difficulties
faced by road users whenever their vehicles crossed the wooden structures.

"The authority concerned had been briefed by me of the situation and aware
of the urgency as the wooden bridges are not very reliable and could pose
danger to those using the road," he said at a Pesta Ang Pau gathering
organised by SJK Chung San Sebauh recently.

Once the new bridges are completed, he added that the infrastructures would
not only alleviate the hazards faced when travelling along the road but
would also provide extra comforts for the travellers.

At the same time, he advised travellers of the road not to take the better
infrastructure for granted by driving without giving due considerations to
other road users.

While remarking the Sebauh people had been fortunate to have better road
system to link the bazaar with the Jalan Bintulu-Miri, he noted that there
were several vehicles that he saw were driven at high speed and could pose
danger.

Such an attitude, he added, would only defeat the objective of the
government to provide better facilities especially to the rural people.

He also urged cargo transporting companies to avoid having their vehicles
carrying excessive that would only increasing the risks of accident to occur
as well as damaging the roads.

At the ocassion, Tiong also announced a grant of RM40,000 to SJK Chung San
to improve the facilities at the school.

Prior to attending the gathering, Tiong along with Kemena state assemblyman
Dr Stephen Rundi ak Utom had visited the school premise.
