BINTULU-- The Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing has urged members of the deregistered SNAP aligned with the group led by Datuk Amar James Wong Kim Min to wake up and analysed their situation rather than to continue condemning the Registrar of Societies.

In a statement released here on Wednesday, he was disappointed that some of the former leaders had continue to mislead the other members by resorting to publicising their dissatisfaction over the action taken by the RoS to deregister the party.

"Although the deregistration had come as a big blow for everyone in the party, nothing can be achieved by simply blaming the decision made by RoS. Everybody had to analyse the situation to find out what had gone wrong in the partythat had led to the deregistration," he added.

It had also came to his knowledge that a group claiming to be chairmen of 11 divisions of SNAP had made public their protest note against the de-registration of the party by RoS and he described the group's move as another attempt to mislead the other members of SNAP.

"As soon as the party had been deregistered, all members of the party should be aware that all divisions should cease from functioning unless decided otherwise by the RoS later or the relevant authorities," said Tiong, while expressing his suspicion over the signatures of the purported chairmen in the protest note.

He said that the protest note deserved to be ignored as it did not carry the name of the chairmen and the signatures had been found to be different from those that had been obtained from the records of the last trennial delegates assembly(TGA) for 2000.

The group aligned to the Wong and involved in signing the protest note should identify themselves, said Tiong, rather than camouflaging their identities that would only raise the other members suspicion on the legality of their election to the positions.

"They also have to explain publicly when were they elected as chairman of the divisions since the TGA 2000 records of the signatures of some of the chairmen for the divisions concerned were not the same with what had appeared on the protest notes," he added.

This had also led him to suspect that the Wong's group had continued to adopt the tactic that they had been using in creating the chaos that led to the existence of two divisional committees in the Meluan division previously.

Tiong condemned the move by the group to implicate the RoS action with the solidarity of the Barisan Nasional and slammed it as just another crude tactic to achieve personal political agenda.

"We have to respect the decision made by the RoS as this decision was not just being simply done as I believed that it has been made after an indepth consideration of the law concerning registration of societies and the part of laws that may had been violated by certain people in the party," he added.

In calling all the members to remain calm under the current trying period, he assured that the group led the majority-supported Datuk William Mawan ak Ikom had already drawn out plan of action to decide the best move to maintain the overall interest and wellbeing of all the members of SNAP.

"The solution would be very soon and we hoped that all members would respect the decision of the RoS for the time being, while those who are aware that they had committed serious wrongdoings should accept the punishment they deserved," he added.
