


Dissapointment...Jau anak Sedu (left) relaying her frustration to Tiong over IC Application BINTULU-- An elderly couple have suffered a double blow when they got involved in a road accident while travelling back to their longhouse in Sebauh after a failed trip to get their identity cards in Miri recently. Enjik ak Edin, 62, of Rh Dana, Sebauh broke his left leg when a van that he was travelling in involved in an accident at Jalan Bintulu-Miri on 25 June, while his wife, Jau ak Sedu, 60 fractured her right leg. The fate of the couple was relayed to the Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing during his recent visit to Rh Dana, one of the three longhouses that he called on for the ngiling tikai (closing of Gawai celebration). At the time of the visit, Jau told Tiong that her husband was still warded at the Bintulu Hospital as his condition was said to be serious. "It was a disappointing trip to go to Miri when we are only told that our identity cards have not been received and when returning back here, we got involved in the accident," said Jau. Expressing his concern with the couple, Tiong told them that he would investigate the matter. |
