


Bintulu MP Tiong King SingBINTULU:- Mobile Registration Team will be deployed to the upper and lower Pandan areas in the Sebauh sub-district from 24 to 29 June this year to carry out registration for birth certificates, identity cards and other related documents. The Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing said the team would comprise 11 staff of the National Registration Department (NRD) led by the the department’s assistant officer here, Encik Masam ak Makong. This team will be conducting door-to-door visits to the longhouses and villages in the area and I urge those from the area with registration problems but working elsewhere to return during the period to settle the matters,” he said in a statement released here Thursday. On 24 June, the team will be at Rh Endang from 10am to 2pm while on 25 June at Rh Egit (10am-1pm), Rh Imban and Rh Merigi (1pm to 2pm). On 26 June, they will be at Rh Unang (10am to 3pm), Rh Uncau (3pm to 5pm) and Rh Jimbun (5pm onwards). The team will proceed to Rh Ampie on 27 June from 9am to 1pm, Rh Jembat (1pm to 5pm) and Rh Ganda (5pm). On 28 June, they will be at Rh Aran (10am to 2pm), Rh pata (2pm to 5pm) and Rh Along/Rh Suring (5pm onwards). On the final day of the exercise, the team will be at Rh Lepang (10am to 1pm), Rh Teressa (1pm to 2pm), Rh Saba (2pm to 3pm), Rh Kalong (3pm to 4pm), Rh Janting (4pm to 5pm) and Rh Ugai (5pm onwards). Tiong also urged the village headmen and tuai rumahs of the longhouses concerned to make themselves available during the period as their endorsements would be required by the NRD team to verify the application received. To ensure this, he said that all the longhouse and village heads in the areas involved had earlier being given notifications of the NRD team’s intention and to facilitate the registration process. He added that the deployment of the mobile registration team to the upper and lower Pandan areas would be the first and only one that had been planned in the area, where he hoped the people concerned would treasure this efforts. At the same time, he also warned against those who are not eligible to apply for the registration such as illegal immigrants or those with criminal records not to abuse the efforts of the department. He want the tuai rumahs or the ketua kampungs to be vigilant over this matter and not to endorse those who are not qualified for the registration,” he added. The Member of Parliament also hoped that those in the other rural areas such as Niah, Suai or Tubau to be patient as such mobile registration team would also be deployed to their areas when the time comes. |
