Located at a very strategic location that is on the way out of town, motorist can settle over parking fees or buy coupons once they finished their business in the town area or while on the way back home.

The location is also convenient to out-of-town visitors like those from Sibu, Miri or Brunei to settle their dues.  It saves them the problem of locating the booths in the town area or paying to the SBBS Counter at the PERBINDA (BDA Municipal Services) office.

BDA has appointed its subsidiary company, BDA Properties SDN. BHD. to manage the coupon parking system in Bintulu since 1998.

According to the Chairman of the 100 percent owned BDA subsiary, Encik Peter Lim Choo Kwo who is also the BDA Deputy General Manager, "motorists can not only pay parking fees but also make queries at the booth."

BDA is seeking the cooperation of motorists to ensure the smooth running of the system.  "Park properly so that others can come in into the bays. Do not park in between two bays."

Shopkeepers are also urged not to put chairs, boxes either of the carton type or wooden to "reserve" the bays. Actually, such action is also depriving the shopkeepers of their customers' convenience.  No goods like glass and aluminium rods or motorcycles should be placed at the parking bays.

It has also been found that motorists threaten the parking wardens.  The wardens are only doing the duties and try to earn a decent living and please respect them.

There are also numerous offences under the parking system as listed followed:
a. Not Punching tabs completely
b. Punching the time later than actual time of parking
c. Not displaying coupons on the dashboard, covered and mixed up with other coupons or items
d. Not displaying coupon
e. Displaying used coupon
f. Using the wrong coupon
g. Parking in grass or ununthorised areas or motorcycle parking.
