| Bintulu, Sunday:-The Member of Parliament for N91 Bintulu, Dato' Seri
Tiong King Sing today officially launched a giant billboard featuring the
Prime Minister Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohammad, Dato' Seri Tiong himself
and the state assemblymen for Kemena, Kidurong and Jepak constituencies
respectively.
The installation of the billboard in the vicinity of the roundabout about a few hundred metres away from Bintulu downtown here was in conjunction with the 44th anniversary of Malaysia National Day which would be held on August 31, 2001. Talking to the Borneo Post this afternoon Dato' Seri Tiong called upon the members of the public to show their loyalty and love to the king and country by raising up both the national and state flags on their vehicles, homes, shops, offices and other buildings on that particular day. He said that in addition to the activities organised by the State government, the Sarawak National Party, Bintulu Branch would also organise hives of activities to be held before end of September. Among the many activities to be organised, he said would be the "Concert untuk Rakyat". However, when asked to comment on the specific day and date of each activiity to be held, Dato' Seri said that he would leave it to the Kidurong SNAP Youth Wing to decide. Also present during the function was the Bintulu District officer Mr. Philip, the former political secretary to the Chief Minister Major Ngu and Kidurong SNAP Youth Chief Mr. Thomas Ng. |
