Bintulu, Saturday: The reduced water pressure of water supplies will back to
normal as water level of SIKA reservoir was expected to be back to maximum level these few day, said the member of parliament (MP) for Bintulu Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing.

After visting the reservoir with area manager of LAKU Management here Mr. Wong Tiong Kai, he said the water level of reservoir had been increasing up to 22.25 metres which was now above the safe level today as well as river level ( up to 5.4 metre), following a few continuos overnight downpour recently.

Responded to various complaints received from members of public of town and residential area here of low water preasure, Tiong explained that he was
acknowledged by the LAKU here that it was due to the burst of a main pipe at KM 2 Bintulu-Miri road recently.

Wong Tiong Kai also explained that it took the workers of LAKU almost 24 hours to restore the pipe which was deep underground.

Beside such complaints, Dato' Seri Tiong also assured the members of public that LAKU here will carried out the flushing works to blowoff the residual water.

Earlier, he said a lot of complaints received via people service centre of
Bintulu MP of murky water supplies, especially those from town areas.

Nevertheless, Tiong also praising the good works of LAKU management here for prompt action to construct a weir, and joint contribution of Asean Bintulu
Fertilizer (ABF), Malaysia LNG (MLNG) for kindly contribute and financed theinstallation works of two water pumps, Shell Middle Distillate Synthensis
(SMDS) which had provide its manpower, Public Works Department (JKR), SESCO, contractors for LAKU's new water dam and others.

Although water supplies was back to normal now, Tiong urged all the consumers should conserve water at all times, not only within the dry season.

Wong also wishes to apologise for all the inconvenience incurring 
to the company's consumer during the 12-days water restriction but stressing that it was never the company intention to bring any hardship to its valued consumers.

Also present during the visting was chairman for SNAP Kemena, Liew Ah Lek, Chairman for SNAP Kidurong Youth Wing Thomas Ng, KACC's site superintendent Yang Lak Huo.
 
Earlier this morning at 9:00am, Tiong also attending a votive ceremony held
at Tua Pek Kong temple here chairing by the chairman of the temple Mr. Sim Pang He with members of committee.
