He said the Dayaks community in the state should prepared themselves to merge into the new informative millenium as knowledgeable and skillful group would be among the determining factor as one would like to achieve greater sucess.

By doing this, Datuk Celstine Ujang who is also the Housing Minister said the Dayaks not only helping their community but also contribute to the overall progress of the country or Sarawak.

He stressed this at a Grand Millinium Gawai Celebration held at Rh. Michael Lanyau on the gawai festival eve last Wednesday.  

As the State Assemblyman for N52 Kemena, he said the people in the constituency should be graceful to the State Government leading by the Chief Minister, following a lot of projects especially infrastructure development were brought to the constituency to uplift the standard ofliving of rural community.

Up to date, Datuk Ujang said most of the longhouses around the Sebauh town were acessable by road and electrical supplies. 

The road if used properly would bring more prosperity to the longhouses
along the road, he added.

When asked to comment on the recent resignation announcement, Datuk
Celestine clarified that he had not resigned and still the people elected
representative.

Therefore, the minister said he still needed to discharge his official
duties to serve the constituency. 

However, he stressed that he would be much obliged to obey if allowed not to be the canditate in coming state general election. 

After 26 years of serving as the state assemblyman for N52 Kemena, he said it would be the time for him to retreat himself and give way to younger generation to continue the mission of BN.

Thus, Datuk Ujang said he would have more time for the family.

Meanwhile, member of parliament for P190 Bintulu, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing was regretful to learn the decision of Datuk Ujang as the incumbent state assemblyman for N52 Kemena for the past 6 term. 
He hoped Datuk Ujang would serve at least to serve for one more term for bringing more development and prosperity to the constituency. 

Describing himself as a rookie in the field of people serving affairs as
the MP here, Tiong said that would be invaluable asset if guided by Ujang
as a experiened politician in the field.

Tiong's appeal was also echoed by the Tuai Rumah Micheal Lanyau, stressing that people of Kemena still needing the minister to serve for the
constituency.

Also present at the grand celebration were Dr. Stephen Rundi, Duputy
Chairman of PBB Bintulu, Divisional Engineer of Public Works Department here, Mr. Liew Jiun Ming, Senior Adminstrative Officer of Sebauh Terence Firaon, Pemanca Kelambu Medan, Penghulu Utong Sigan and local community leader.
