15/09/2000: FORIEGNERS CAUGHT IN ILLEGAL TRADING AT PASAR MALAM.
Bintulu - Two illegal immigrants aged in their 20's and 30's respectivly were recently caught red handed by the enfocement team for carrying out illegal businesses at Pasar Malam near here. 

The arrest was made following information given by the public members there to Dato' Sri Tiong during his recent visit to the area.

He praised the enforcement team comprising of officers from the police, the National registration Department and the Bintulu Development Authority.

According to the information provided to Dato Sri Tiong by the public members there there were rampant illegal businesses carried out by foriegners there, especially by those from China or Indonesia. He was told that these foriegners were selling their products at cheaper prices, thereby, affecting their businesses.

Also present during the operation were the Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Patrick Jimmy, Bintulu Central Police Station Chief
Hasmera Bin Hassan, the Immigration Department Head in Bintulu, Encik Masam Anak Makong.
