The Member of Parliament for P90 Bintulu Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing yesterday
said that under the newleadership of Haji Su'ud Suhaili, the Bintulu Development
Authority (BDA) had tremendously changed in terms of services to the public.
By doing so, he said that Su'ud not only had brought the authority a step
closer the public but at the same time helping to uplift the image of the
authority concerned.
Tiong said that Haji Su'ud who is the present General Manager for BDA not just simply entertained public complaints but at the same time going down on the ground himself so as to be able to identify their problems, adding that in this way appropitate actions could be taken accordingly. He said this in an exclusive interview with the Borneo Post at the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) service centre in Parkcity near here yesterday. Under him, Dato Sri Tiong said that the BDA is now very well organised and efficiently run up to the expectation of the public. He stressed that, that complaints were entertained almost instaneously was a reflection of the authority'scaring attitude to the people, saying that previously many similar complaints fell into deaf ears, thereby, causing public disappointment and loss of confidence in the authority. He said that similar renovation works would be done at the Tamu. Besides, he said that the owners of the Sunday stall onners were now allowed to erect their own shelters but at their own costs. He called upon the people to give the BDA the full cooperation so that the implementation of such projects which caused temporary inconveniences would be done in a smooth way. Dato' Sri also called upon the people not to simply throw unnecessary allegations against the BDA, but instead highligting their problems in a proper channel. In doing so, he said that the public could call the authority's hot line provided that the complaints were genuine. He also said that the complainant should identify themselves without fear for their identities. He assued them that their identities would not be revealed. In any organisation, Tiong said one problem or another bound to crop up. However, such problems, he said, could be rectified in an amicable way. |
