| BINTULU, Mon.-Women, with the god-given beauty should not misuse or abuse their beauty in the morally-wrong professions. Making the call here last Saturday night, Member of Parliament for Bintulu, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing said that women should use their beauty and brains to do something that is more constructive and good to the society. He said such professions including public relations, advertising and communication. Addressing at the Miss Beverly Bintulu, World 2000 at Parkcity Beverly Hotel here last Saturday night, Tiong remind contestants the traps and dangers in beauty contest, apart from enjoying a lot of privileges and benefits. He said beauty contest usually are a platform to better places. "It is an exposure zone where beauty and wealth come into bondage, a place where dangerous liaisons can happen and lead to something beyond one's control", he said. Beauty attracts a lot of people, both the good and the bad and it is a divine altar where pleasure mixes with business without one's knowing it, he added. Tiong warned women that flesh trade has been the oldest profession on earth. Women, he said especially the beautiful ones, have always been the targets of unscrupulous and irresponsible syndicates who forced the innocent into prostitution. However, he said there are women, who are blinded by wealth opted to sell their dignity, honor and pride to men. Therefore he advised beauty contestants to be careful in weaving their life to the future. Tiong congratulated the winners and to those selected to the Miss Sarawak contest later on, he hoped that they will make Bintulu proud and further excel themselves to the national level. | |
