| BINTULU, Tues.-Member of Parliament for Bintulu Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing has donated 20 rolls of fire fighting hoses, 20 mattresses and 20 pillows to the Fire and Rescue Department here. These items were donated in response to the complaints from members of the public on the leaking fire fighting hoses and for the welfare of the firemen at the stand-by room here. Leader of the welfare committee of the MP's people service Centre, Mr Kong Kung Kwang handed over these items to the Superintendent of Bintulu Zone, Mr Awang Hidzel at the fire station here recently. Witnessing the handing-over, Dato' Seri Tiong urged the residents of wooden houses and longhouses to be vigilant to prevent fire form happening, especially during the dry and warm season. Supt. Awang Hidzel expressed his appreciation to Tiong for his concern and sensitive to the need at the fire station here. | |
