| BINTULU, Sat.-Those members who betrayed the party will be sacked by the Centralexecutive committee of Sarawak National Party(SNAP), this warning was put forward by the Vice-president of SNAP, Senator Datuk William Lau. He urged all party members to remain united under one party as well as the Barisan Nasional so that they can face any challenges from the opposition. Addressing at the get-together dinner for members of SNAP in Bintulu at Li Hua Hotel here last night, Senator Datuk William Lau said the most appropriate ways of maintaining unity in the party is to inform the CEC members on any untowards rumours of the party, so that the top level will be able to clear the situation. "This will not only foster closer and better relationship among them but this will prevent split and conflict in the party", he stressed. Datuk Lau said a good members should ask what they can do to improve and strengthen the party and not trying to ask what the party can do for them. He pointed out that the Bintulu Parliamentary seat should be allocated to SNAP and SNAP is determined to wrest back the seat that was lost to the DAP in the last general election. He added that BN should has a strong hold of Bintulu Parliamentary as this will ensure that the central government will continue to develop the town despite of the economic downturn. Datuk William Lau has also introduced a few of the new central committee members to the participants that night and it included the new treasurer-general, Datuk Tiong King Hing. Earlier, Senior vice-president of SNAP, Mr Richard Wong said SNAP must wrest back the Bintulu Parliamentary seat in the next general election. He said this would be possible with the strong cooperation and unity amongst party members as well as the Barisan Nasional component parties. However, he said the right candidate for contesting the seat will be decided by the CEC and the top level of the BN. Mr Richard Wong commented the good job done by SNAP members in Binutlu to organise this gathering successfully. Among those top brass presented at the gathering were secretary-general, Mr Justine Jinggut, advisor of SNAP Bintulu, Major K.K. Ngu, chairman for the respective Kidurong, Kemena and Jepak branch, Mr Peter Lau, Mr Liew Ak Lek and Mr John Antau and organising chairperson, Mdm Clarissa Mendong. | |
