To provide affordable housing for the people in the lowerincome bracket; |

| 3. To provide basic education
to eradicate illiteracy amongst the adults and to instill awareness on
the importance of education amongst the children in an effort to reduce
the imminent of early drop-outs among school children;
4. To gear the youths for more active participation in society by way of providing social activities, skills trainings,.and to address social problems that stem from schools; |

5. To create employment
opportunities for the natives and rural folks by way of modernizing agricultural
practices;
6. To boost the tourism industry by way of tapping the potentials of eco-tourism and adventure-based tourism in Bintulu which is obviously blessed with natural settings and environment, and; 7. To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public services in terms of courtesy, delivery and prompt action to adaress the cominunity's problems and grouses. |

| Finally, it is of paramount
importance that the people of Bintulu are correspondingly pro-active, rather
than being reactive, towards the development brought by the Barisan
Nasional Government.
It is my conviction that with close co-operation between the general community, the Government, the business and commercial community, we can make Bintulu a prosperous, caring and healthy Bintulu. |
